Google Analytics: Google Analytics is the website tool we use to track – anonymously – how people use our site. Information collected through this tool includes: IP address, page views, time spent on pages, browser type, device type, how the visitor arrived on our site and other generic site traffic data.
Facebook Pixel: We use a Facebook Pixel (type of cookie) on this site to track how people who click on our Facebook posts or ads interact with our site. This data helps us create more customized Facebook advertising campaigns for people who have an interest in our content and services. Note: The Facebook pixel only collects traffic data from Facebook users who are already logged on to their Facebook account.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
PII is the information we collect that can be used to identify you personally. PII information is only collected from you on a voluntary basis when you purchase a course, sign up for our newsletter or communicate with us through the live chat widget.
i. When you purchase a course: Your name, address, phone number and email are needed for registration purposes.
ii. When you sign up for our newsletter: Your name and email are needed.
iii. When you request information from us through email or live chat: In most instances we need your name and email only.
Your Payment Information
We do not process credit card or PayPal payments on our server and none of your payment information is stored on our site or database – ever. All course payments are processed by our secure payment processing partner which uses encrypted protocols and safeguards to protect your information.
Access to your personal information
You can access and edit your personal information by logging in to our site with your chosen username and password. You will establish a username and password only when you purchase a course and create an account.
How we protect and safely store your information
TEFL Source has security measures set up to protect your personal information from unauthorized use. Our website utilizes SSL security encryption to protect your information during transmission (when you create an account, login to your account, or purchase a course), offline information (for records purposes only) is encrypted and password protected, and our online database has technological safeguards which includes security software and firewalls to prevent hacking or unauthorized access.
Sharing your information
The only time your information is shared occurs when you purchase a course (for enrollment and records purposes) or we’re required to do so by law. Parties we may share your information with include:
The Course Provider that’s responsible for administering the course you purchased. They require your registration information to create your student account which gives you access to the course login portal.
Affiliate Partners when applicable. We have Affiliate Partners who promote the courses we sell to their respective viewers. If you purchase a course through an Affiliate Partner your registration information will be shared with them for records purposes. We have strict Affiliate agreements in place which prohibit them from downloading or storing any of your information offline or on their servers. They can only ‘view’ your information through an encrypted and password protected database.
Internal Sharing Notice: When you send us an email, contact us through Facebook Messenger or use our Live Chat widget, your inquiry will be shared with our internal team members so we can respond accordingly.
How long do we keep your information?
Non-Personally Identifiable (Non-PII) Data: This anonymous data (can not be used to identify you) is stored indefinitely with our web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII): The PII information you provide when you create an account will remain active for a period of 5 years following your last interaction with this site. Note: You can access and edit your account information by logging in with your username and password. You can also request account removal (all your information will be deleted from our database where your account details are stored) by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Email Address: We will retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.
Payment Information: Your payment information will be stored with our payment processing partners in accordance with financial regulations relating to online payments.
Live Chat: When you contact us through the live chat widget on our site your message, name and email will be stored for 1 year.
Rights to your information
Under the Data Protection Act 1998, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018, you are entitled to the following requests: Request a copy of your personal information, to have any inaccuracies corrected, to have all or part of your personal data erased, to place restrictions on how we process your data, to object or withdraw your consent to processing of your data.
Asking us to erase your information or place restrictions on the way we use your information will affect the services we are able to offer you.

Our website contains links to third-party websites. TEFL Source is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party website. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of other sites you visit.
TEFL Source offers a newsletter service to all Users who subscribe through our website or other online email marketing signup forms. When you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter your email will be added to our mailing list. The newsletter content we send out is limited to: teach and travel articles, teach and travel resources, overseas teaching job notices, TEFL course promotions and the occasional contest.
We hate spam just like everyone else. We will never share our subscriber lists with third parties – ever. You may also unsubscribe to our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in one of the newsletters you receive via email, or by sending us a written request to have your email removed.
Information you disclose publicly
When you choose to connect with TEFL Source through our social media pages or accounts, or post content with TEFL Source identifiers, such as hashtags, you are giving your consent for us to use that public information for marketing and promotional purposes, without further notice or compensation.
